RAISING THE COSTA CONCORDIA
The stricken cruise liner "Costa Concordia" has been prised from the reef that was embedded in its hull after a three-hour struggle.
The £500 million operation to raise the 114,000-tonne ship ran aground 20 months ago off the island of Giglio started early this morning.
32 passengers lost their lives, with two bodies still to be recovered on 13 January 20112, when the ship hit the rocks and sank with 4,200 people onboard.
